An SMS from Medicare
From July 1 2026, we are transitioning to a new Assignment of Benefits scheme when we bulk bill our patients.
If you have a smartphone, we will send you an SMS shortly after your appointment, which you will be required to view, confirm your date of birth DD/MM/YY and then verify/confirm that you wish to assign the Medicare Benefit to the Clinic. Once you have done this, we obtain the consent to bulk bill your appointment to Medicare.
Please be aware that not all SMS’s are genuine even if they claim to come from Medicare, so if you are in any doubt as to the authenticity of the SMS, please don’t hesitate to call us or pop in and we will confirm that it is genuine and provide assistance should you need it.
If you don’t have a smartphone, we can print a paper copy, which you can sign and we will upload to your file.
We understand that this may prove a little tedious, but it is a legal requirement now, so please be patient with us.
