Health Education

We all have the capacity to improve our health. In order to do this, we need a good understanding of not only the normal functions of the body, but also the abnormalities. It’s also important to understand treatments and potential outcomes. Having an increased knowledge of you own health and illnesses helps with decision making.

As well as understanding your health, you body and your illnesses, it is also valuable to know how to access specific services, what referrals or other documentation might be necessary, how and where to make appointments, and how to ask the right questions of the right people. As the world of health becomes increasingly complex, this can be daunting. The staff at the BNC will help you navigate and learn what may need to navigate these processes.

There are a number of ways that the WBNC provides health education:

  • One on one discussions and assistance
  • Group discussions and presentations
  • RUM radio show
  • Walwa World
  • Gym programs
