Practice Nurse
The nurses of the WBNC also act in the capacity of “practice nurse” for the medical clinic. In this role they assist the GP’s with a number of clinical processes, such as removal of lumps and bumps, health education, medication reviews, ECG’s and pathology collection.
Importantly, the practice nurses can also assist patients with chronic and complex conditions by attending GP appointments with them, to assist with conveying a medical history to the doctor. If you have any concerns about communicating your history or medications etc to the GP, ask the practice nurse to accompany you. This service has been very well received by many of our patients who have said it’s taken all the pressure off them, and made them feel confident that the GP will better understand their needs.
